Action Items
@Mario Lurig Reach out to the school to setup interview with the 16 $300+ fundraisers. The goal is to understand their motivations, methods, and ideas.
@Taunya helping with the actual meeting.
Rules of Thumb / Tips
- Reward cost should be < 10% of reward tier $ value. This ensures all rewards received make up < 15% of total money raised.
- If pre-buying rewards to secure a deal, value must be 5% of reward tier $ value.
- No sizes, No Choice, No Names (personalization)
- Rotate physical rewards each year
Planning
- GOOD: Having a defined start line separate from the "mark"/finish line.
- GOOD: Parents at each corner of the course to encourage and ensure they go around cones.
- Pre-print student name and teacher name on label before distribution to classrooms before the DD.
- Water station with small cups ready should be near the course fore hydration during the race.
- Survey teachers and students for possible prizes. In April/May, provide a "vote" option for the school to select the prize at each available tier from 3-5 choices.
- Create a weekly "goal" during the fundraising rather than a lot of miscellaneous rewards (keeping only top earner for the whole school is Principle of the Day)
- Week 1: $1 for raffle, 100% participation school goal
- Week 2-x: TBD
- Week of DD: Class competition
Ideas
- John wanted to partner with businesses that would offer a time/donation trade, so kids could volunteer to help in some way and the business would donate on their behalf, affording all the reward tier benefits.
